Saving and Loading lags

Hey there,
I have a little problem. I am using ES3 to save everything (items, values etc.). But everytime I save a value, the game freezes/lags for a short time. Even when I only save one float value the game freezes for 0.5 seconds in a build (a lot longer in the unity editor). Is there anything that I might miss. If you need the code I can show it to you.
