Easy Save Auto Save not Working

Hello I am using unity for my game. I am trying to save a script attached to the player called playerVariables. If I only save the player's transform the auto-save works correctly however if I try to include this script the save does not work entirely. If I go to the advanced settings and try and only save the public float GoldAmount it will load the transform but the goldAmount is not saved.

Not sure if this is an error because the Player object is actually a Prefab inside of another prefab or what the cause might be. Any help is apreciated.
